Medina's Antique Show on the Square, Sunday, June 29, 2014

Main Street Medina held its 3rd annual Antique Show on the Square on Sunday, June 29, 2014. There were approximately 45 vendors who were selling everything from antique furniture to paper collectibles such as books and postcards. The event went from 9 am to 3 pm and was sponsored by First Merit Bank. Below are some pictures from Joyce's visit to this event.

Joyce and Medina Councilman Bill Lamb who was one of the organizers of the event. Bill and his wife own a historical home on South Court. The young lady in the picture is part of a group that performed at Bill's house on Saturday afternoon.

Women Enriching Business Event

On Friday afternoon Joyce attended a Women Enriching Business event hosted by the Wadsworth Chamber of Commerce. The event included tours of businesses that are run by women. This is the second WEB event that Joyce has attended, the first being an event in Medina. Sundaes on the Square, 6.27.2014

On Thursday, June 26, 2014, the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities held an event called "Sundaes on the Square". It was a family oriented event. Joyce and Attorney David Sheldon, who is running for Medina County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge, were on the Medina Public Square, introducing themselves to the people who were attending. Medina County Community Fund Dinner

On Friday evening Joyce and her husband, Judge James L. Kimbler, attended the Medina County Community Fund auction. The Medina County Community Fund is part of the Akron Community Fund. By pooling their resources with the Akron fund, the Medina fund saves money on overhead and gets the benefit of the investment power of the Akron fund. The Medina Community Fund helps support many organizations in Medina County and organizations receiving grants from the fund were on hand to be recognized. Also attending were County Commissioners Geissman, Hambly, and Friedrick. The Medina Fund's Executive Director, Tim Hagerty, noted that the County Commissioners have used the proceeds of the Commissioners' Charity Ball to make donations to the Fund. Feeding Medina County Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

Feeding Medina County threw a volunteer appreciation picnic for its volunteers. Joyce and her husband, Judge James L. Kimbler, attended as guests of one of the members of the Board of Trustees. Attendees included the Executive Director of Medina County, Sandy Calvert, and Medina County Commissioner Pat Geissman. Sandy was recently honored with a Humanitarian of the Year award presented by the Western Reserve Agency on Aging. Commissioner Geissman is a long time advocate for anti-hunger programs in Medina County and is also a long time supporter of Feeding Medina County. Below are some pictures from the event.

This is the truck that FMC is presently using but it has raised over $100,000.00 and will be getting a new truck in the near future. 

Wadsworth Blue Tip Parade, June 17, 2014

Joyce and her campaign workers were in the 2014 Wadsworth Blue Tip Parade on Tuesday, June 17. The parade is one of the most well attended parades in Ohio and one of the longest. This year the theme of the parade was in commemoration of Wadsworth's 200th anniversary. The Grand Marshall of the parade was retired Dean Caesar Carrino, a life long Wadsworth resident and a former dean of the University of Akron. Volunteering at the Seville Chamber of Commerce Barbecue on Saturday, June 14, 2014

Joyce and her husband, Judge James L. Kimbler, volunteered at the Seville Chamber of Commerce's Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The Chamber has been holding this event for many years. It is held in conjunction with the Seville Yard Sale. Volunteers included members of the Chamber who manned the tent from 11:00 AM until about 5:00 PM Saturday. Seville Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing, June 11, 2014

Joyce and her husband, Judge James L. Kimbler, attended the Seville Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing Dinner on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. There were visitors from the Lodi Chamber of Commerce in attendance as well as several Chamber members. The attendees enjoyed a nice dinner furnished by the Deer Pass Golf Course.
